About this app

This app provides live notifications of new messages from the open-source messaging tool, AtomJump, and allows you to save shortcuts to any AtomJump messaging forum. It is a hybrid app that links into the messaging functionality via a web browser.

You can use this app in conjunction with the hosted version of the software at atomjump.com, or host your own AtomJump server on your own hardware, and connect to that.

Safety and flexibility is at the heart of the design of the messaging:

- Anyone can delete anyone else's messages, to help prevent hate speech
- The messaging software is 100% peer reviewable, and runs in a standard web browser, with built-in industry-standard safety measures
- If you want a new feature, you can build your own plugin in a simple web language (PHP)

The organisation that publishes this app is a non-profit Foundation that has no political or financial motivation. The Foundation earns an income from the optional hosting of private pages, at NZ$15 per year, but public pages, or self-hosted installations are free.

Note: if you are experiencing any issues with this app on your particular phone, please check the '.apk version' notes section on atomjump.com for potential work-around apps.
