The ArmorLock™ app is the key to unlocking the G-DRIVE™ ArmorLock™ SSD. We built the ArmorLock™ Security Platform from the ground up with technology that’s amazingly simple to use and won’t slow you down. Use the app to unlock the drive with a tap – no password needed. The G-DRIVE ArmorLock SSD delivers pro-grade performance and ultra-rugged features that give you durability you can rely on. It’s next-generation security with new-generation simplicity.
PASSWORDS ARE A THING OF THE PAST
Remembering passwords, entering codes, and downloading software slows down access to critical content. We’ve removed access barriers without sacrificing content security. With ArmorLock™ technology, your phone is your key, leveraging your phone’s biometric authentication to simply and quickly access your content with the tap of a button.

ACCESS MANAGEMENT
Easily control who gets access to your drive whether they are in-person or remote. When you’re in-person, simply use the app to grant the user access. A new remote user will need to have the drive, the app, and an internet connection to request access approval from the drive’s manager, which is granted via email or messaging service.
ROBUST DRIVE MANAGEMENT
With the app, you can format your drive to one of the compatible file systems and when your content is no longer needed, use the secure erase feature to confidently erase the drive with the tap of a button.
LOCATION TRACKING
Want to see where your G-DRIVE ArmorLock SSD was last accessed? The app shows you on a map the location where the drive was last unlocked.

New features

We're making collaboration even easier with this release. You can now set your drive to “Always Unlocked” so trusted recipients can immediately access its content without unlocking with the ArmorLock app.

App Permissions

Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
