Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing My SAPS on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. This app is useless. You report a crime on the app and the next day they sms to tell you to contact your nearest police station which is also useless as nobody answers the phones. Metro police was more responsive. They should have an app. Would probably work better too

The App performance has improved considerably and the interface is well presented.

Expected more from the app. It's a great start. Report accident, affidavit, get ir numbers etc. Basically, the less I need to go in to the station, the better. If I do need to go in, get everything done on the app, so I only do the essentials at the station where it's all on the system already and available to the officers on duty. Stops dockets disappearing.

The app will be a great tool only if we could see action taken against the crimes in our neighborhoods that we've reported in good turnaround time. It would be pointless to do as far as investigate all suspects in suspicious activities, taking pictures, addresses & everything you possibly can then see nothing happen after such dedicative detective work. Our neighborhood has become a playground for criminals to a point where even sleeping has become an impossible mission. We want to fight crime.

Exceptional, As Id said in a previous comment, the police service in johannesburg is really making a stand against crime and this app is a starring example. I like the "report a crime" bit. Keep up the good work. Just some advice, when making an anonymous tip off, the second option is greyed out.

A TOTAL WASTE Extremely useless app... Bad design very laggy and slow. Asking for your location call access GPS every permission under the sun.... For an "anonymous" app it's ridiculous Tip offs probably go into a black hole. I'm surprised at the extremely poor design of the app and I seriously doubt any tip is acted apon.. If it were the app would e the best thing for citizens.

About this app

My SAPS is a FREE application available for IPhones and other smartphones, provided by the South African Police Services. My SAPS will allow you to submit crime tip-offs (anonymously) to the Crime Stop Centre and send updates.

It also allows you easy access to all SAPS Stations information with the SAPS Station finder, as well as to all SAPS Social Media platforms.

Why use My SAPS?
My SAPS provides a new and easy way for citizens to access polices services and information, as well as enabling everyone to contribute towards building a more crime free society:

- Tip–off: You can submit a tip-off anonymously on criminals and their activities .
- Station and Facilities Finder: The ability to locate the nearest police station and view all contact information.
- Quick access to all SAPS Social Media platforms.
- People of Interest: View a list of people who are missing, unknown or wanted by the South African Police Services.
- Crime_Statistics: You can view a measure of change in recorded crime, over a given period of time, based upon official statistics for offences or offender rates.
- Vulnerability Services: To ensure the effective investigation of related crimes and to ensure excellence in service delivery to the victims of Family Violence and Sexual Offences.
-Receive Notification: Enable your notifications under your profile and receive notification regarding protest action, events, mission or wanted persons.
-Service Complaints: You can report poor service of the South Africa Police Service for investigation.
