So...at the most rudimentary level of a PC, the security is able to be busted by simply entering an incorrect password and analysing the response? For serious? I don't know if that's funny or scary or even true. Interesting either way.

About this app

In older laptops it could still work. However, in newer laptops, the CMOS does not store the BIOS password.

Once the wrong BIOS password is entered, almost all laptops generate a hash code. From this hash code, the Master Password could be identified. There may be some exceptions too, where hash code will not be generated as in the case of IBM. Here, a programmer is required to read ROM memory. Some laptops have a DIP switch, a jumper to clear the BIOS password. So, if you don’t remember the password, it would be useful to see the manual.
