App Description

Use Microsoft Authenticator for easy, secure sign-ins for all your online accounts using multi-factor authentication, passwordless, or password autofill. You also have additional account management options for your Microsoft personal, work or school accounts.

Getting started with multi-factor authentication

Multi factor authentication (MFA) or two factor authentication (2FA) provides a second layer of security. When logging in with multi-factor authentication, you’ll enter your password, and then you’ll be asked for an additional way to prove it’s really you. Either approve the notification sent to the Microsoft Authenticator, or enter the one-time password (OTP) generated by the app. The one-time passwords (OTP codes) have a 30 second timer counting down. This timer is so you never have to use the same time-based one-time password (TOTP) twice and you don’t have to remember the number. The one-time password (OTP) doesn’t require you to be connected to a network, and it won’t drain your battery. You can add multiple accounts to your app, including non-Microsoft accounts like Facebook, Amazon, Dropbox, Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, and more.

Getting started with passwordless

Use your phone, not your password, to log into your Microsoft account. Just enter your username, then approve the notification sent to your phone. Your fingerprint, face ID, or PIN will provide a second layer of security in this two-step verification process. After you’ve signed in with two factor authentication (2FA), you’ll have access to all your Microsoft products and services, such as Outlook, OneDrive, Office, and more.

Getting started with autofill

Microsoft Authenticator app can also autofill passwords for you. Sign-in on the Passwords tab inside the Authenticator app with your personal Microsoft account to start syncing passwords, including the passwords saved in Microsoft Edge. Make Microsoft Authenticator the default autofill provider and start autofilling passwords on apps and sites you visit on your mobile. Your passwords are protected with multi-factor authentication in the app. You will need to prove yourself with your fingerprint, face ID, or PIN to access and autofill passwords on your mobile. You can also import passwords from Google Chrome and other password managers.

Microsoft personal, work or school accounts

Sometimes your work or school might ask you to install the Microsoft Authenticator when accessing certain files, emails, or apps. You will need to register your device to your organization through the app and add your work or school account. Microsoft Authenticator also supports cert-based authentication by issuing a certificate on your device. This will let your organization know that the sign-in request is coming from a trusted device and help you seamlessly and securely access additional Microsoft apps and services without needing to log into each. Because Microsoft Authenticator supports single sign-on, once you have proven your identity once, you will not need to log in again to other Microsoft apps on your device.

Disastrous. absolute garbage I'm an IT professional and half the time and I've restarted it two or three times just to receive an authentication prompt when I could have just as easily typed the numbers. Whoever programmed this has absolutely no pride in what they create. So much time playing with this app to get into services that are supposed to be protected for my customers and instead I'm sitting here playing with an app on my Android phone and hoping that it will work.

The authenticator app used to work. The last several months it goes into an infinite loop. The app calls for my Android password which when supplied justs repeats the request until forced to close not allowing the Microsoft authenticator app to authenticate. 😒

perfect security and very simple to use. I recommends stronger and safer passwords, greater levels of security with multiple devices needed to be able to access your accounts on new and old devices to help keep your personal information private and only accessible by you. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who has a microsoft account. I'm just a regular gamer, I thought my accounts were secure before but after being hacked. Microsoft authenticator came highly recommended.

This is the best. It is an authenticator and password vault in one. It works with multiple types of MFA, and is Johnny on the spot with account information. I have my IT staff using it and my family. It is realible and quick. Much quicker than waiting for a password.

This Apps is working very well. It's usability has been improved as well as the Help guide. Thanks. I am happy to recognize the huge pedagogical effort made whilst introducing the new OTP, TOTP. Many thanks, it's now up to me to practice the Authenticator. Please continue the good job.

I have been using this app from past several months and it was working fine. But since few days i am not able to login using the code provided by the app. It is showing error "Your code doesn't match our records. Please try again." for the account where i am using this authenticator. I don't know whether the error is with this app or the other side. Need the help ASAP because i can't login and having bad experience. Thanks!!

The 2-FA implementation method is so dumb. I've got locked out because I lost my other phone with the auth app and when I tried to reset my password to login, I clearly choose resetting it via email ... so, I checked my inbox and apparently, I still need the auth code from the app. Clearly, testers at Microsoft are doing terrible jobs for making this decision.

Using Microsoft Authenticator definitely gives you a feeling and sence of security. After having several attempts of hacking over the last couple of years I know that if it happens again they will have a hell of a time getting into any of my accounts and personal information. Thanks Microsoft. 👍✌️

Fix your servers! You made me waste hours trying to figure out what's happening and how to fix it. Everytime I try to sign into my account to recover my other accounts the app gives me "No network connection" error or something after making me wait for minutes! I also tried the app on a different phone and made sure eveything else was working, but the result was the same. Please fix this ridiculous issue, you can't take my accounts away from me for this long, I need to continue working inshallah

The idea is a Sound one, the function is convoluted and exhausting! By the time you finish authentication, you've forgotten or missed what you intended to do before authentication became necessary. THERE'S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY TO ENSURE SECURITY

A good choice for authenticating a Web page or app without having to remember multiple passwords, there are teething problems, such as when you get a new phone or tablet, not recognising the device, but once you get past these little problems it's quite a good app.

I like this app it is another way to log into your account when a camera is not available, as for Windows Hello, and of course it means that not another password to remember. So far so good I would say.

Once I found my Authenticator App. ( my bad, not the app or Microsoft) it was so easy to work with. Being of the older generation I kinda avoided using it b4 cuz it sounded confusing to my aged accounting brain. If only, if only I tried earlier I could have saved myself a whole lot of time n trouble. Five plus stars

Honestly, how is it reasonable that I have to type in at least 3 codes to get to access an account (I just unlocked the app, why unlock it again while still being unlocked)? Having to do this, sometimes multiple times a day, is simply, too much. Other than that, the application is fine.

It made my life easier in so many ways. The cloud backup is a savior. However, when I .oved from iOS to Android I had to revoke and regenerate secrets since I couldn't use iCloud backups. I wish there was an option where we could choose our backup servers, ie. iCloud, GoogleDrive or OneDrive, to be platform independent.

FAQ

What is an APK file?

An APK file is an app created for Android, Google's mobile operating system. Some apps come pre-installed on Android devices, while other apps can be downloaded from Google Play, or site like ApksPC.com . Apps downloaded from Google Play are automatically installed on your device, while those downloaded from other sources must be installed manually.

If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

Yes, absolutely. As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've installed, it will commence an update.

What measures do you take to make sure all APKs are real?

Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from this site, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Why can't I press the Install button? It's grayed out on my Android device!

Disable any screen-dimming apps, like Lux or Twilight. For security reasons, Android will gray out the Install button when an app like that is active.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
