The first thing I've done as soon as I've booted up a new phone for the last 10-ish years has been to switch from my default keyboard to Gboard. This app has always performed exactly as advertised and expected...until now. The last few months, in voice-to-text, any time I use a contraction, for example "gonna", it automatically changes it to "going to" or "Ghana", etc. ALL contractions! Also, if you highlight text, the options for "cut", "copy", "web search", etc. are buried behind the arrow.

"Emoji search data is unavailable." Every. Single. Time. I thought this may have been my old phone but now that I have a new one it is still happening and apparently has been a known issue you haven't fixed for years. Due to not fixing such a simple issue for so long, you're getting one star until you do. This is incredibly annoying as hitting the search bar a second time does allow you to search. Just fix the error message!!

I love this key board I have tried others. My only complaint is the placement of the send icon. In the past it was too close to the back space and would automatically send the message before it was finished by accident. I just came back to this Gboard I had been using Samsung because of that issue I just described. Plus, Samsung never seemed to develop a voice recognition with me. I just started back tonight with Google rating this app is the first thing I've done on it and it seems fine now.

Swiping has gotten so bad, I can barely get through a sentence without several words being incorrect. "Some" consistently coming up as "done", for insurance (that was supposed to be instance). I can't swipe the word "adjacent", it comes up as adjustment, with no alternate suggestions. And numerous times, I've had the word I'm swiping show up as I'm tracing it out, only for it to be replaced with a different word when I let go, and the word I was swiping doesn't show up in the suggestions.

Haven't gotten used to it yet,but it's annoying at times. Wish there were instructions on how to control the options on that new and improved Google Play app. My smartphone's built-in software doesn't always constantly updating all of the thirty-one apps, including this one,but I can tell you that this app doesn't sync saving my contacts. Which is irritating. After I've put them in three times. Needs improvement.

The app allows quick typing and provides good correction features. It aeemless integration with Google's speech to text makes it very useful. However at some point it started resizing character pictograms in the button widgets and it happens bow accidentally from time to time. Fizing it requires stopping the app and cleaning its cache. Huge headache. I am looking for another app now.
