Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing SMS Backup & Restore on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. About this app

This is very simple and easy to use app that backup your sms (text) messages. restore them on any device you want.

Needs permission to read sms , device storage permission to store backup , contacts permission to obtain accounts to login to google drive. Internet permission for google drive interaction.

All the sms backups are stored initially in device internal storage inside folder same name as the app name.

This app has following features
- Backup SMS (text) messages xml format.
-Restore SMS (text) messages backup.
- Create backup in local device storage. Can be copied to another device for restore or can be uploaded to google drive for later use.
-Sms can be exported to Microsoft excel file. Can be viewed in your computer or any other excel supporting tool like MS.Excel , OpenOffice etc.


Note: This app does not store MMS. It created for SMS and contacts backup only. It works perfectly on KitKat (android 4.4) or later versions. Mainly tested on Marshmallow (android 6.0). Works very well on Lollipop (android 5.0 and 5.1). Minimum android version required is Android 4.0.3.
Works on mobiles and tablets only. No other device is supported.
During download or upload process you must keep this app opened. However you can close this app during restore process. It will keep running on back end.
