This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing yaxim - XMPP/Jabber client on PC Windows and Mac.

Just switched from Xabber - their client doesn't work well on Samsung phones. Yaxim is a relief after the above mentioned client. A feature request. It'd be cool if Yaxim showed pictures right in the chat window without having to open a broswer (Sawim could do that). Another important thing missing is room management and moderator's commands. At least I couldn't find how to do that.

Connection issues. The latest update you can connect from the mobile network, but not from wifi. The obvious difference is that your LAN probably doesn't support ipv6. Solution is to manually enter the ipv4 address of the server as custom hostname.

It almost provides a chat screen. Back to my linux or unix boxes to get the xmpp client like i want to use. Limited functionality. Too bad it does not function in a way similar to pudgin. Xmpp connection worked. No true chat screen.
