Very good, however it lacks feature to transfer my profile to another device. I'm using multiple devices and I'm constantly getting new, so I'm getting rid of those I don't need anymore. Losing all my contacts because I changed my device is quite silly.

Abandoned project. Doesn't get developed further and it has NO encryption. It's useless as an "anonymous" messenger app. It's broken and doesn't serve its purpose.

If you added live video feed and file exchangeing I would give you 5 stars and promote it obviously I can't say who I'm an as I'm john doe but I insure you this would be the most used app in less than 2 months after you add these features

Really like the app's simplicity and anonymity but unusable as battery drain is excessive. 3 phones used: opo, zte and Alcatel on 3 versions of Android. Fix it and I'll reinstall.

Sadly the app is good but base64 is not encryption it's encoding and there is no way around that this app dose not encrypte anything at all no hand shake methods or anything, sorry but the dev has also been contacted on many different platforms and they don't reply about it, so a app to mess with but never use it for anything real.

My chat won't connect. It'll get to 95% and then go away, making me think it's connected, and then all my messages will stay at "Pending" for 5+ minutes. Am I doing something wrong?

About this app

Anonymous and fully encrypted peer-to-peer instant messenger using onion routing!

Many instant messengers already use encryption to secure message contents, but they can't hide important metadata such as your IP address and who you are communicating with!

To hide all your information, including your metadata, identity, and IP address, Chat.onion uses onion routing (Tor) to send each message over several randomly selected proxy servers. Multiple layers of encryption are used to ensure that each proxy only knows it's immediate successor and predecessor, but not the entire message route.

Chat.onion is completele free: There are no ads, you don't have to pay anything, and we can't sell your data. Chat.onion uses peer-to-peer technology and the existing Tor network, so we don't need to cover any server costs.

Chat.onion users are identified via 16 character checksums of their public keys. To connect with other users, send them your ID, show them your QR code, or use your camera to scan theirs.

The proxy servers are operated by thousands of volunteers worldwide. Chat.onion does not run a proxy or bridge node on your device, so you don't have to worry about anyone else wasting your bandwidth.
