Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Direct SMS on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

Bloat free app enabling you to send predefined SMS with a few taps either from the app or from your homescreen*.

This is particularly useful if you have some equipment that can be controlled via SMS, such as garage doors, front gates or alarm. There is no limit on how many SMS templates you can have.

Application does no logging and only requires 1 permission for SMS sending, no internet access is required! The data you send is as safe as your phone and default SMS application.

Keep in mind that READ_PHONE_STATE permission might be asked on some devices such as One Plus 5 only because it would crash otherwise due to undocumented reasons.

* Due to google play store policy changes I am not allowed to make it possible to send sms directly from the homescreen - drop me an email to obtain an alternative version that will install as an update where single tap sms sending will work as advertised here

New features

This update is only done to make the application compliant and keep it visible in play store. New policy dictates that only default SMS app is allowed to send messages: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/9047303

This version now uses SMS intent, which basically means that an extra step in the default SMS app will be needed before an SMS can be sent. Drop me an email and I will provide alternative version that works like before.
