Was a great app even though the original publisher had stopped updating. However, I guess time (Google) has finally caught up. The developer has not taken steps to verify the app with Google so you can't access your Gmail account anymore and therefore can't backup to Gmail. So unless the developer decides to do that, the app is useless as of now and for the foreseeable future...bummer...

Solution as if Sept 2020. Log in to your Gmail using Microsoft Edge. Then when you authenticate in the app and it wants to open Gmail, be sure to use Edge. I've enjoyed backing up to Gmail as it's easy to search through texts. In past years it's become more difficult to use due to authentication issues. A previous method using Firefox no longer works. As noted above, using Microsoft Edge seems to be working right now. Its been a great simple app, just frustrating to have to keep it going.

I need to set my Moto g4 back to factory and wanted to save 4 years of texts. It seems to have worked great. I've checked and it appears to have copied all to my gmail account. BE SURE TO READ THE WORK AROUND. The link in the developer's site gives easy to follow directions. I missed on copying the long password that Google generated, but once I got it right, it loaded 4,000 texts from my phone to my gmail. I haven't tried to put them back yet after the phone reset, but I don't think that's going to be necessary. I think this app is the definitive way to save texts.

Changing my rating. This app no longer works, but not because of the developer. This was by far the best backup app I've ever had, and I agree with other reviewers - this absolutely should be part of the operating system. Automatically backing up my SMS and MMS to my Gmail was a brilliant idea. It was the easiest way for me to go back and look at messages I'd had with someone in the past, retrieve pics I maybe forgot to back up, etc. No other backup app I find that even comes close to this one

Hadn't been able to update since March 2020 and decided to check in today to see if any updates and saw numerous reviews recommending using Microsoft Edge. Installed it and the app works again. Thank you to all who have taken the time to mention using MS Edge as the browser to access a gmail account. Very happy with the app once again.

I had this app for years and then it stopped working. I thought it was because I had a new phone and the permissions weren't correct. I've tried multiple times over the last couple years to reinstall it on different phones, I get a message that says," Could not get token from system. Would you like to try browser authentication method." This says,"this app has not been verified yet by google in order to use Google sign in. Please tell me how to fix this.
