It's an okay app. I like the button to quickly close the app, I just wish didn't have the "attach image" icon. Having it right next to the input text box might be confusing for some people. Other than that it's a great way to message your friends on steam. Yeah, you can just message them in the main Steam app but there's no "instant exit" button. Plus, who doesn't love having to install multiple apps with the same functionality?

Can't believe the updates turned this app into such an unusable rubbish, it's all same as others say - crash on image upload. But what's worse than that is that it frequently crashes upon sending a message. If ver. 0.8 wasn't so much appealing with its UI, the core function worked just fine. Looks like the devs aren't rushing to do something about it, not even rollback the updates, and it's been quite a while since the 0.9 release, which was the one to introduce broken image uploading. Yeah man, it got worse than that with the next update. Also no response from the feedback email address. Will be looking for a downgrade back to 0.8 until it's fixed.

A while ago, the app updated, and since then, it's been garbage. I downloaded it so I could send images from my phone. Now it crashes when I try to do that, plus sometimes it just crashes when sending a simple text only message. It takes a while to load too, and when it does, half my friends list still isn't loaded. The update on Jan. 5 did nothing, it still crashes every time I try to add an image. Valve, fix your stuff

The fact I can't send images to my friends is a real buzzkill. The app teases me with the image icon but then crashes when I click on it. Seems like this app was rushed and not tested very well. Hope it gets an update fixing the crash soon. Seems like I'm not the only one with this issue, so they must know about the issue.

Current state of the app (Jan/18/2021 as of writing this) is not the best. The app crashes at random intervals, mostly when trying to add an attachment to your message. Sometimes a message won't go through, you send it again, relaunch the app, and find out that you sent the same message multiple times. This app desperately needs an update.

This is honestly such an obnoxious pain to use. This app is so unfit for purpose, I'm surprised it's official and not some junior developer project. It has the quality of a comments section on a website for a scammy antivirus. You won't go more than 5 minutes without encountering a bug of some sort, such as (the most glaring example) the emotes button being WAY wider than it needs to be, making it impossible to edit text that the hitbox overlaps with. And lately, it crashes when sending text.
