I have tried so many different text messaging apps and textra has been the best one I've found. In the past I often missed group texts without knowing or would send/receive messages out of order. Since the app can turn off the wifi automatically for mms messages, I was confident that I wouldn't be out of the loop in group chats. I'm really glad I found this app because I used to worry a lot about missing group texts.

Edit: I tried everything *except* uninstall/reinstall. Woops! Quick fix, just had to set up color schemes and some settings again but love the customization tools and aesthetically pleasing options to choose from. Thank you :) // I've been using this app for years! Typically it has worked great. Recently I am not getting any notifications for new texts. I've tried every setting & sub-setting but nothing has worked. Help!

The "not showing messages" bug has been fixed. I'm still not thrilled about having to confirm to delete a text. Maybe add a settings option? Also, I wish there was an option to reply in the notification instead of in a pop-up. My keyboard won't display with the pop-up open (so I have to open Textra) and the app I was using ends up being garbage collected after it opens.

Textra used to be an awesome SMS app until release 4.39 killed several very important features. First, they did away with the ability to forward a text message, which is just mind boggling. Thanks to countless angry villagers with pitchforks and torches, they brought that back in 4.40. They also completely broke the ability to share multiple text messages as an email, and that one hasn't been fixed yet. The old version (4.38) used to show date/time stamps as well as the sender of each message. The new version just lumps all the messages into one, big, unidentified stream, so you can't tell who said what when. It's completely useless. This is a feature that I used to use a lot, but I'm now searching for a different SMS app that doesn't push changes without testing them first.

I absolutely love Textra. Even when I get a new phone, I instantly download it and start using it immediately. The default texting apps on Galaxy phones aren't nearly as good as this. Keep up the good work! The only thing I think would make it better is if you could use a picture as your background, instead of just a color. But other than that, LOVE this app. I always recommend it!

Mostly recommend. Been using for years. Lately though, it's been force closing itself while I'm in the middle of typing or reading texts. Seems to be happening more and more and I'm not sure why. Edit: now it's 3 stars. The force closing is getting out of hand. It doesn't even close the app always, just the message. Completely erases everything I was typing. Quite annoying.
