This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Sangoma Chat on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

I will gladly modify this review if there is improvement but at the moment, the app simply doesn't work on my Pixel 4 XL running Android 10. I can sign in but then, there are no chats and no contacts available to start a chat with. Basically, I can't do anything. Hoping an update can fix that soon!

About this app

Sangoma Chat lets you

* Exchange text messages with your coworkers, and SMS messages with external phone numbers
* Find your contacts and send a text or SMS message, or place a call to them using the Sangoma Talk app (formerly Sangoma Connect)
* Create and join video conferences using the Sangoma Meet app
*Change your Status and listen to your Voicemail messages, plus see your Call Log and Favorite contacts.

Requirements:

- An account with Switchvox, FreePBX, or PBXact business phone system from Sangoma Technologies (your PBX).
- The most recent version of your PBX. (Previous versions may support some of the features of the app.)
- A valid SSL certificate on your PBX, signed by a trusted 3rd party certificate authority.

Once you have the app on your iPhone, open the app and enter the fully qualified domain name (meaning the hostname, not the numeric IP address) of your PBX, your extension number, and your password, and click Sign in.
