Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Telerivet USSD Expansion Pack on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

The Telerivet USSD Expansion Pack makes it possible for businesses and non-profits / NGOs to deploy SMS services that also interact with USSD functionality, such as by checking and recharging your phone's balance and transferring phone credit to other mobile phone users.

Before installing this app, first install the Telerivet SMS Gateway app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rivetlabs.sms) on your Android phone. Then, install the USSD Expansion Pack.

After installing the USSD Expansion Pack, you must reboot your phone before USSD functionality is enabled.

Then, you can use the Messages page on Telerivet.com to send USSD requests via your phone and view the responses. Developers can also send USSD requests and receive responses in their own applications via the Telerivet API.

NOTE: The current version of the Telerivet USSD Expansion pack does not support USSD menus (where the network sends a USSD response that prompts you for additional input), such as the M-Pesa service in Tanzania.
