A great way to use Riot/Element when space is at a premium. Other than the few features that were removed (which I have never used), it's basically the same experience.

Excellent. Much faster than riot! Edit : please tell riot about patches you use. They should imo merge it upstream.

A bit lighter compared to Riot for obvious reasons, which is more suitable for my old phone.

I like the direction this is going. It's in early days. Need to clean up the code, and speed things up a lot more. Keep up the good work.

About this app

This is a Minimalistic client for Matrix with fewer permissions and features

It is a fork of the open-source Riot.im Android client. Source code : https://github.com/LiMium/mini-vector-android

This fork just trims away the following features and dependencies:

* Jitsi integration (for audio / video conference)
* React native libraries
* Application Icon badger
* Analytics

Consequently, the app is smaller and needs fewer permissions. The major missing feature is video conferencing via Jitsi meet.

Branding from Riot.im app has been removed so as to:
* reduce confusion for the user
* avoid trademark conflict
