About this app

For use with mobile phones.

This is the FREE version with ads for trial purpose. If it works and you enjoy, please share and support further development by purchasing the Pro version which has no ads.

Use Kriptyk SMS's Anti-Spy Encrypted Text Messenger to securely send secret encrypted text messages, as well as normal text messages, over major carrier networks such as Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Boost, Virgin and many more. .

Encryption Keys: there are 3 key methods that can be selected, each indicated by a different colored send button. - The No-Key method sends normal messages with no encryption and is indicated with a red send button.
- The Custom-Key method allows you to create your own custom key and is indicated by a green send button
- The Auto-Key method creates a key automatically for the user that is unique to the user, changes periodically and can only be deciphered by the end-user; this key method is indicated by a blue send button.

Keys can be enabled / disabled by selecting the method through the options menu while in any thread.

The end-user must also have Kriptyk SMS installed to decrypt an encrypted message. Encrypted messages always remain encrypted on the device and decryption is only viewed on-screen. A decrypted view is always cleared as are custom-keys when backing out or exiting the app, however, not during the transition to another app.

To decipher a message, simply tap the message. There is an Auto-Decrypt feature available, however, this can slow down the device when scrolling fast as many messages are being called to decrypt. The Auto-Decrypt is relatively new and will be fine-turned in future releases.

Kriptyk enables you to encrypt any type of digital data using a custom chain of keys, generally referred to as a key, made from a sequence of phrases and/or files of your choice. This key dictates how your data will be encrypted and this data cannot be decrypted unless the end-user knows or has the key. Keys can be exported, imported and used in any Kriptyk app.

Why encryption? Encryption is a far better method for securing your data then password protection. To give an analogy: Password protection is like locking the front door to your house, even though there are several and much easier ways to get in, whereas, encryption is like rearranging the atoms of everything in your house.

Note: Can not yet send, but will receive, multimedia messages (MMS). Sending multimedia messages is currently in development and will be available shortly!
