Personally I think this APP can be used to not only keep Australia's Youth Safe, but also those suffering Domestic Violence, and the Elderly, where they can use it to alert people and emergency services when they are needing urgent help (such as a Break-in, a Fall at home or out, or any other eminent danger).

Not just for the teens. I have to travel by train late and night and early in the morning. I use it to let my partner know I am OK. I also love the comfort of calling 000 and notify partner at the same time

Thread is a personal safety app that allows users to communicate with friends, family and carers.

Thread allows users to send a check-in with the touch of a button, chat about their concerns and, in the event of an emergency, send a message to their contacts while dialling emergency services.

Thread offers the following features to users,

+ Alert: When you only have time to make one call in an emergency, use Thread to call 000 while notifying your contacts of your distress.

+ Threads: Create check-in deadlines with friends and family. If you miss your check-in, your selected contacts will receive a notification. Don't want to set a deadline? Simply send a check-in from the Home page to let your contacts know you're OK.

+ Updates: Have you seen or heard something that makes you feel unsafe? Attach any image to the conversation, add trusted contacts and talk about the subject in a secure channel.
