This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing SMSTracker on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

This application allows phones to locate each other via SMS.


Use Cases

A family member or friend is a at a movie but you don't want to disturb them. SMSTracker, once approved by your contact, will locate without sounds or vibrations.


Privacy

Only contacts that are stored on your phone can send requests for your location. Once you approve their request for the first time, they can then request for more location updates in the future.

You can revoke a contact's ability to locate you at anytime. Simply click their profile image and delete them from SMSTracker's contact list.

Since this happens only over SMS, no webserver is involved. This means that no one, except the contacts on your list will be able to know your location.


Reliability

Locating requests and locating responses utilize SMS text messages. This means even when a contact's mobile data and Wi-Fi are turned off, they can still be located by SMSTracker. The contact only needs to approve your request once; future requests are automatically handled by the application.


Precise

Even if the Wi-Fi may be turned off on a device, SMSTracker will still use nearby networks to more accurately pin-point the device's location. A list of previously found locations is stored, allowing the user to see where a contact has been throughout the day.
