About this app

JAM is an instant messaging application for communicating with users speaking/(read & write) different languages. Once the user sets a preferred language then all messages from the users will be translated to the preferred language of the user.

After you install Jam you can create a Room by clicking on the icon, icon with multiple users with a +, from the tool bar . You can give a name to the room. Be careful in naming the chat room so that the name makes sense to all the members you want to invite to that room!.

When creating rooms you can make the room secure by checking the Secure box. Secure messages will be encrypted from the sender and will be stored encrypted on the receivers device. So even if you loose the device the messages are still protected. Note that messages to the secure rooms will not be translated to the preferred language of the user.

When you create a chat room you will be the only member in that chat room. To add members to the chat room click on Invite Users icon from the toolbar. This will show a dialog box allowing you to pick the users from your existing contact list. You can also enter the email of a user who is not in your contact list. For existing users Jam installed they will receive a Join request from you. If they accept your invitation then they will be added to the room. If not you will be notified that they rejected your request!. For users who don't have Jam client installed the Jam client will ask if you want to send a link to the app using your email!

To join a group you must be invited by someone from that group. You can leave a group by deleting the chat room. When you delete a chat room you are removed from that room. To join that room again you must again get an invitation from a existing member of that room.

JAM uses the network connection on your device to send and receive messages. Make sure you have WiFi enabled.
