I like this app a lot Two yrs with two phones . Functionally great I use it so only calls from an existing contract in a group in my contacts will ring my phone. Very happy with it. New phone with android 10 claims it is using lots of battery. Prior android 8 did not complain. This app is far more important to me than somewhat degraded battery.

I'm not sure what to rate this. When I replaced my phone, it worked beautifully. On my new phone, it doesn't work at all. I emailed the creators but have not heard back. For now, I have to give it a low rating until they fix it. It is now several months later and still no reponse. Please fix your app to work on my Moto G phone!

It does the job it says it's going to do. The free version allows you to manage ringtones for only two groups. If you want more you'll have to pay. Each time you add a contact to one of these two groups, the app reminds you to refresh the ringtone. It uses less cell data if you manually set off the refresh.

Continue to tell same ringtones need updated.over and over again. They have been updated and verified as to proper ringtone.

I want all my contacts to have a distinctive ringtone from non-contacts, so I can easily identify potential spam when the soft default ringtone sounds from someone from my contacts calling me. This app lets me do that. Confusing interface. Order is important but it's not quite obvious which way. I guess it takes your first rule, assigns them, then your second rule, assigns them (overwriting if 1st rule wrote it), and so on. I set a ring tone for "My Contacts" and hit OK and thought I was done. I kept getting a message that "xxx contacts need to be updated". I finally figured out I have to hit the refresh button (clockwise arrows) to apply the ringtone to my contacts, rather than just when I hit OK. When you add a new contact, you get this reminder. And actually there's no need to set a ringtone for all of your contacts in a group, just use the Default, and set groups for any unique ringtones. Then (hopefully) your phone uses your default phone ringtone, The app overwrites any individual ringtones you set in your contacts. You are limited to two groups with the Lite version so if you want a lot of individual ringtones you need to upgrade to the pay version. Reasonable.

So far so good. I was able to create a single group for contacts in the Google contacts, and then use this app to set a ringtone for contacts that is different from the default. The big issue was that I was starting to get spam calls and that really irks me. So this helps. Hopefully I can still set individual ringtones for people without messing anything up.

About this app

Group Ringtone automatically sets the custom ringtones of your contacts based on the group membership of each contact. So now you can also use Google Contacts to manage your ringtones.

Group Ringtone also supports a default ringtone for all your contacts. By setting the default ringtone different from your phone's default ringtone, you can have different ringtones for stored contacts and "unknown" (not stored) contacts.

Possible scenarios, where Group Ringtone helps you, are:

* You want different ringtones for private and business contacts, but you do not want to set the ringtone manually each time you add a new contact.

* You buy a new phone. While your contacts are automatically synchronized from your Google account, your ringtones are not. Use Group Ringtone to set up all your ringtones again.

Differences between full version and lite version:

Lite: no automatic background updates, only 2 contact groups definable, ads
Full: automatic background updates, unlimited number of contact groups, no ads
