Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing OBD Now Lite on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

OBD Now Lite, in conjunction with an ELM327 chipped scan tool (Bluetooth or Wi-Fi), transforms your Android phone or tablet into an OBDII diagnostic tool.

OBD Now Lite is designed to report on the OBDII Services of the OBDII specification in a minimal amount of time.

OBD Now Lite’s simple menu driven structure guides the user through the OBDII services. Within a minute or two of connecting with OBD Now Lite, an operator can quickly determine if a vehicle is running normally or has faults that require further investigation.

OBD Now Lite supports the following OBDII services as specified by SAE J1979 and ISO 15031-5.

• 03 – Emission-Related Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
• 04 – Clear/Reset Emission-Related Diagnostic Information.
• 07 – Emission-related Diagnostic Trouble Codes detected during the last drive cycle.

• 0A – Permanent Diagnostic Trouble Codes

• Real-time digital display of up to 162 Pids of power train data.
• Automatically supports all vehicle protocols including J1850 PWM, J1850 VPW, ISO 9141, ISO 14230, and ISO 15765 (CAN).

Supported scan tools:
We recommend any of the following scan tools OBDLink Bluetooth MX and MX+ or LX, OBDLink MX Wi-Fi, OBDPros Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, OBDKey Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, Kiwi 3, Kiwi 2 or any genuine ELM327 chipped scan tool, version 1.3a and above.
