About this app

BLE-Eir (BLEIR), is an extension of EIR. You can set commands for Android through your Bluetooth Low energy device.

This app reads, writes and checks updates/notifications from the bluetooth signal.
The notifications/updates from a device are being convert to an Android command of your choice (Eir acts as the receiver).
A minimal understanding of GATT helps with the configuration.
A commands is based on a UPDATE/notification.

How-to:
Start the application, accept the permissions and choose a BLE device from the list (you can swipe from top to bottom for a refresh).
Choose a service, characteristic and then a hex input where EIR (or your own program) can interact through notifications.
A characteristic that doesn't do notifications cannot be used as a "button".

Important:
Location and bluetooth must be "on" to find BLE devices.
Installation of the free application EIR is required as receiver (unless you have your own server): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fumetsujostudio.eir

Note:
a server can be set, so EIR's from around the globe can be configured.

Note 2:
This project builds on the fantastic Bluetooth LE Explorer project. Some (less useful) functions have been removed from the project. Project source: https://github.com/Microsoft/BluetoothLEExplorer

Note 3:
If you have a bluetooth smartwatch (not LOW ENERGY BLUETOOTH) device, you can use the "phonebuttoncommands" function inside EIR to pass commands to your Android device. Check: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fumetsujostudio.eir

Note 4: this project is open-source. The code (xamarin c#) can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mvOPAVF8oJ2-KC2kW36ZzKr2VSd7Eg-h/view?usp=sharing

New features

Read, Write and follow notifications from Bluetooth Low Energy devices.
