This app is similar to magicJack but it has a subpar performance in comparison. You don't need a global talk plan to use it. You can use it to make call using the wifi when you don't have FreeUp signal, but you won't be able to receive call like magicJack. Its voice is not clear as magicJack even when your router is 10 feet from you. Overall, this is a useless app if your phone don't have FreeUP signal and you are waiting for someone to call you.

The app tells me, “No user found! Please try again.” Customer service says, "FreeUP’s free plan does not include any app service." So, basically, you need to have a paid subscription in order to qualify to use this app, which sort of defeats the purpose, since most of the paid subscriptions have unlimited talk.

I purchased a SIM card from this company and they give me 200 minutes for free each month. I use Hangouts 4 calling and texting when I'm stationary, but I need minutes in case of an emergency when I'm driving and this works perfectly for that. Xfinitywifi is basically everywhere so I'm able to make and receive calls on Hangouts everywhere and when I'm driving I have 200 free minutes with Freeup. FreedomPop was better but this is the best alternative I could find. Completely free except for SIM!

This may be a great app, but it is confusing. Using FreeUP does not require this app, just use your phone with their SIM. This app is only for international calling. The app should simply say that your plan doesn't use this app, instead, it says no user found which is just confusing.

Keep getting "there is a problem with your account, please contact customer service. Pure 3rd party trash. Not even proprietary to FreeUP. Numerous other international call and text apps available that work perfectly. Don't bother installing. Use your phone for regular network access and data.

App says to enter your freeup phone number. When you do that it says there is no user found...despite the fact that my account is active on that very number 💩. Oh and when you use Google voice WiFi calling ... Freeup counts that against your monthly minutes .....
