This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing WSJT-X Monitor on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

The app allows me to see on my phone what is happening in WSJT-X anywhere within range of my network router. Furthermore, it allows me to set up alerts for particular callsigns or countries and then click on with the station from my phone! The only reason I gave four stars is because I had a small confusion in the network setup.

I think I can tie the ne radio in with this monitor through a remote hookup. Sorry for the earlier mixup.

I would like to use this, but it needs a multicast support. My WSJTX is sending packets to 224.0.0.1, so that both CQR log and grid tracker can read them. I would have to turn all that off in order to use this app. give us multicast support and I will give you at least one more star.

Installed the app and really love it. Would like to see the band that the contact was received on like WSJT-X does at the break lines and the option to select distance in miles but those are minor issues in a great application. Mike

I think this is a great app. The developer helped me set it up so that I could continue using GridTracker. Great support. I raised my rating to 5 stars.

Pretty sick app, butt I would like to be able to respond to CQs. I know it is possible because grid tracker can do it. I know wsjt-x doesn't allow other apps to start a CQ though which is a pity.

About this app

WiFi only. Use your phone or tablet to monitor WSJT-X running on your computer. Join your family while still keeping up with what your station is receiving. Works for all modes (FT8, FT4, WSPR, MSK144, etc). Extensive help menus, including how to configure WSJT-X or JTDX. It displays nicely on tablets as well as phones.

Note that you cannot initiate a transmit with this or any other app. WSJT-X developers do not allow the "Enable Tx" button to be pressed remotely.

ALERTS - The app will monitor your station and alert you when a desired region or callsign is heard. For example, it can let you know when a rare DX station appears, when 6 meters opens up, or when your own callsign is heard.

FILTERS - You can control the locations and callsigns that you want to see. Alternatively, you can control the locations and callsigns that you don't want to see.

SELECT STATION – A window will show all the stations in the last group. You can select the station to reply to. The effect is the same as double clicking the station in the WSJT-X Band Activity panel.

SORTING - The app includes an option to sort each burst based on signal strength, distance, frequency, or direction (azimuth).

**Important** - You must configure WSJT-X or JTDX correctly before this app will display anything. It's easy and the help menus graphically illustrate how to do this. If you need additional help then you can send us an Email (a convenient Email link is inside the app). We are happy to assist.

Also available is "Display All Messages" window where you can also see the background messages (such as heartbeat and status change) that WSJT-X sends out but are not normally displayed.
