Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing EMBC Finder on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

So far it is ok, I can vouch for their beacons though EMBC01 is working like a charm.

Crashes continuesly. No way to use it. Tested on Nexus 5 running on Andorid 6.0.1

About this app

EMBC Finder collects real-time environmental sensor data from untethered and/or energy harvesting beacons from EM Microelectornic that advertise the data via Bluetooth Low Energy (a.k.a. Bluetooth SMART). Data from multiple beacons can be collected and individual data can be displayed on the screen. EM's beacons consume only 150uJ per BLE Advertisement. Complete reference design files are available at www.emdeveloper.com.

EMBC Finder also shows beacons that advertise iBeacon, Altbeacon, and Eddystone beacon formatted data.

Using the app, the EMBE01 Enterprise Beacon device parameters can be configured.

EMBC Finder has an optional packet logging feature. When on, the app saves a csv file of all packets received. The file can be offloaded and analyzed offline.

Added support for new EMBE01 - Enterprise Beacon. EMBE01 is a fully connectable beacon that allows multiple packets including EMBeacon, iBeacon, AltBeacon and Eddystone advertisement types.
