No ads! Once installed and activated, just waits for the password to trigger a GPS location response. Like the thoughtfulness of having a way to end the process from being in memory.

About this app

Finding the location of a wayward phone has never been more important. Your phone, with all of its data, is a key element in your living your life. While a number of solutions exist to assist in locating a phone, they predominately require use of an external website as part of the process. Text Location™ uses the standard messaging service, SMS. Once the application is installed on your phone and the password is set, you are ready to find your phone! All you need is any other device that supports SMS.

Permissions

Text Location ™ requires a number of Android Permissions for its functionality. How the permission is used is described below. Eamon McMillan Services, LLC will never utilize any information obtained through the use of the application for any purpose beyond application functionality.

Operations-Overview

Text Location™ has two components: one, an application that acts as an interface to launch the process; and, two, a process that continuously resides in the background ready to respond to a key SMS message. The process consumes no processor resources while waiting for the triggering SMS message. To better shield the existence of Text Location™, the application may be terminated, without stopping the process from being ready to provide your phone’s location when triggered. The process may be terminated by sending a special message from a SMS device or toggling the “One/Off” switch inside the application on the banner, on your own phone.

Operations-Tabs

There are three tabs to provide for the user’s interactions with the application:

Notify—this is the main tab used for when you want to let someone know where you are currently located. You may use the contacts button to select the recipient of your location from your phone’s contacts for non-panic situations. If the individual is not in your contacts list, you may enter any phone number that may receive an SMS-text message.

Settings—this is the place where you set how the application will function in normal and panic notification situations.
At the top of the tab, you set the password that will trigger the application process to obtain the phone’s location upon receipt of an SMS message. The field is case sensitive. The set password button establishes the triggering password in the application process. The panic button allows you to activate the Panic function on the Notify tab. The text panic contact button enables the Panic notification function in the Notify tab. The contacts allows you to select the recipient of your location from your phone’s contacts for panic notification(s). The set panic contact establishes the panic contact in the application process.
