Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Dysrupts Atom on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

About this app

***Atom must be installed and running on all devices you wish to message, and those devices must be within 90 - 150 meters of each other***

This is an open-alpha version of Atom, brought to you by Dysrupts.

Atom let's you message between Android phones directly without using data plans or 3rd party networks.

Go where you want, even if there are no mobile towers or open wifi hotspots available. Chat with other people running Dysrupts' Atom app.

Developer Notes:
- Android 6.0 and up
- Atom must be installed and running on all devices you expect to message.
- Be sure Bluetooth is enabled on all devices
- Working range between devices is generally 300 - 500 feet (90 - 150 meters).
- App must be restarted if inactive for 5 minutes or more
- Location permission must be given
- App might need to be restarted after first install
- Can only message with one person at a time, group chat not yet available.

Know Display Issues:
- no notification of unread messages in chat list view
