Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Node Remote for Allstar Nodes on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

Works well, but needs to be able to store any number of node memories, not just 11. It also needs to be able to store the full DTMF strings in those memories, and not hard code a disconnect plus *3 before each one. It's a shame that suggestions are ignored and that development seems stalled.

The app makes it very easy to control a node without having to use DTMF commands. It shows the node number and information when connected to an Allstar node, but when it is connected to an Echolink node the node number shows as 00000 and the information field is blank.

Features:

* Send pre-defined config commands to the Node
* Visibly see when your Node is transmitting or receiving
* Direct dial a node (if node number is known)

App prerequisites:

1) You must know your Node local IP address
2) Your device must be on the same local area network as your Node
3) App uses username/password from manager.conf
4) bindaddr in manager.conf file must be set to 0.0.0.0 or your device local IP must be added
5) Default manager port is 5038, but can be changed in app if you have changed it
