Just got the caption call phone on my desk and my account was all set up. However, setting up this app fails every time with:. 'we're sorry we can't connect you to our systems at this time and provides a number to call. I'm deaf, calling the number will do nothing for me. This is an epic fail.

I am not able to use the app at all. Itwill not set up on my Note 10 running Andraod 11. Today a tech cam to my home to try to get this app functioning and the tech had no more luck than I did. So now I have a Note 10 that can only be used for texting as I am deaf. Get this thing ready for prime time, Caption Call! Even after using *72 to forward my cell phone number to the Caption Call app, the app will not ring and sends the caller straight to voicemail. This app sucks!!

I can't really comment on the function of the app because in the process of setting up an account my birthdate is required. BUT it appears that the only way to do that is to scroll back, month by month, tap by tap from today's date to Dec. 1962. That's almost 700 months! I can't see a way to manually enter the date. Please make manual entry possible. Lots of people who will use this app are in the 55+ age group.

App is good when it works, had my phone number being forwarded to the caption call one and the app won't stay logged in, there for when I do get a call that actually comes through, the app won't fully open because it won't stay signed in and I have to accept the waiver every time. Very annoying and makes it hard to use.

This app works great for me and captioning is just as seamless as it is on my landline CaptionCall phone. It is a bit awkward having to use a different mobile number (assigned automatically when the app is installed) to make and receive captioned calls, but that's not a significant issue for me since most of the calls I'm interested in having captioned are initiated by me anyway. All I need to do is launch the app and dial the number or select the contact from my list. Glad this is finally available for Android devices.

Trying to get this app to work on my android failed. When I did get it downloadtg and tried making calls all I got was a green circle spinning round and round in the middle of the screen. I was on the phone with a tech yesterday for more than an hour, to no avail. I was told I would get a return call today to see if someone else could resolve the problem. Hello? Still waiting. It's no wonder the reviews are so bad.

About this app

Do you have hearing loss and need captions to use the phone effectively?

CaptionCall Mobile for Android allows you to read and hear what your caller is saying. Our live Captioning Agents transcribe what your caller is saying, so you don't miss a word. The captioning is provided at no cost to eligible users thanks to an FCC administered fund.

What you can do with the CaptionCall mobile app?
• Make and answer calls using the in-app dial pad & on-screen call alerts
• Follow the conversation by reading captions that smoothly display what your caller says and adjust the font size as needed!
• Save calls & voicemail to keep track of dates, call details, and reminders.
• Turn on and off captions, only use the service when needed.

To use CaptionCall Mobile you must:
• Have Hearing loss that necessitates the use of captioned telephone service to use the phone effectively.
• Complete an app registration and self-certify your hearing loss and need captioning service.
• Have wi-fi or cellular data
• Reside in the U.S. or Puerto Rico

CaptionCall is available in the United States ONLY. FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS ANYONE BUT REGISTERED USERS WITH HEARING LOSS FROM USING INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP) CAPTIONED TELEPHONES WITH THE CAPTIONS TURNED ON. IP captioned telephone service may use a live operator. The operator generates captions of what the other party to the call says. These captions are then sent to your phone. There is a cost for each minute of captions generated, paid from a federally administered fund. No costs are passed along to individuals who qualify for the service.
