This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Data Xfer Calc on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. Good app, but would be happy if the transfer rates were in bytes instead of bits. Now, I have to divide the answer by 8 to get my answer.

About this app

A simple app to calculate the transfer time of data over a network. Simply enter the amount of data you wish to transfer and the speed of the connection it will be transferred over and you will get an estimate of the transfer time in days, hours, minutes, and seconds.

As with all great apps, this was written to make life easier with the developer. We do a lot of mail server migrations and I need to know how long it's going to take to transfer the mailboxes from one server to the other, so I wrote this app to help. In short, this data transfer calculator was written for me, not you. No, it isn't pretty. No, it doesn't have a lot of extra features. No, you aren't paying for it. I'm just sharing my own personal app so it can help someone else. You're welcome.

New features

This is the initial release. The app is so simple, I hope it's the only release, but if you see a bug, please feel free to let me know.
