Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing APP2Speak® on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

APP2Speak is an interactive, easy-to-use, fully customizable Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) software application that enables speech-impaired individuals to communicate more effectively. It is designed and created for the thousands of individuals who experience speech impairment as a result of a stroke, brain injury, Parkinson Disease, ALS, autism, and other conditions effecting speech and communication.

APP2Speak includes 80 preset communication wants and needs. Each page displays 20 real-life photos with words. Each selection provides voice output (with two voice options) for word and phrase describing a want or need. The page size can be easily adjusted for visual difficulties; sizes include 4x5 or 2x10 (columns x rows). The pages can be swiped up, down or left and right to switch between pages. Preset photos can be moved, turned on or off. A separate text-to-speech page for quick communication is located on the Help page by touching the green question mark, and select the Text-to-Speech button. Option for starting APP2Speak on custom page or Text-to-Speech page (bypassing the preset pages).

The custom pages are unlimited, easy to create and provides the user an opportunity to individualize their communication style. Personalize using your own photos and or take a picture within APP2Speak, add words, phrases and select text to speech or record your own voice. Custom photos and pages can be moved and rearranged.
