About this app

Everyday we see things that we wish were different in our city, country or at European level. Sometimes we sign a petition or share something on social media but often we don't take further action because we lack a team of people sharing our views. At the same time, often social media connect people that are very far away but we do not know our neighbours whom we could work with to start changing the world for the better! From here stems the idea of a platform fostering citizens participation by allowing like-minded people to meet and act at the most appropriate level, starting from our own neighbourhoods up to the European level!

theActivist.eu allows building a cross-border community of pro-European local change-makers by bringing together people on the basis of their location and interests. You will be able to:

1) find like-minded people around you,

2) find like-minded people across borders,

3) join an existing project/action or launch a new one,

4) find people with the right skills to start your new local, European or global action!

5) develop hubs of activists in every city to the benefit of all organisations.

The platform is open to all citizens and organisations for free and when registering users commit to respect the principles outlined in the EU Charter of Fundamental rights, including democracy, equality, rule of law, respect for human dignity and human rights.

Overall this platform contributes building a shared understanding of our challenges and interests, enables citizens' participation and enhances our collective ability to shape our common future by facilitating cooperation across borders and organisations.
