Having descended from a renowned lineage of philanthropists, my intention to serve my country is beyond a trivial agenda to wield power for personal gains. My determination and willpower to bring about a positive change in my city and home town and the society at large, is catalyzed further by the rigorous endeavors and relentless efforts of our nations’ esteemed leaders, to achieve the greatness that this proud nation is today. I believe that this country which comprises of several states with diversified cultures and religions can collectively work towards furthering the larger goal of a unified, ever prospering nation. I aim to work persistently towards achieving this larger goal. Being a young entrepreneur from a small North Indian town in Punjab, I always believed in the ideology that substantial socio-economic progress can only be consequential to growth at the grassroot level. With this in mind, I started working towards development of villages and as recognition for my work, I was elected as a Sarpanch at a very young age, for which my name was also included in the Limca Book of Records for being the youngest Sarpanch in the country. It is not unknown that villages in India rely only on agriculture for sustenance, which led to the greater realization that further progress cannot be achieved without development of the industrial sector in these rural areas, which usually find themselves at the end of neglect, and as such started working towards the development of this sector in the State of Punjab. Appreciating my contributions towards the industrial sector, I was also appointed as the Chairman of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry for State of Punjab, a body actively involved with the Punjab Government in development of industry in the State. PHD Chamber is key driver for policy matters and plays a role of catalyst between the Industries in the State and Punjab Government. It contributes significantly to socio-economic development and capacity building in several fields in the state.
