New version added missing info.

Easy to set up and use which is great. I do think the one thing it lacks is the social aspect of commenting. We don't just want to talk to our politicians but want to have our opinions validated by sharing them with others who can respond.

Works well, although when you get the drop down menu of politicians in your area, don't necessarily pick the first one. You have to know your riding or representative. Would be 5 stars if it selected your rep based on your postal code.

Great idea! Looking forward to using it. Will update with comments regarding interface and if difficulties arise!

About this app

There is a tremendous need to improve the lines of communication in our Canadian democracy. Many citizens, and especially youth, are unwilling to engage in the political process due to displeasure from prior poor experiences, dis-empowerment, or general apathy. This needs to change, and new tools need to be developed.

Elections Canada research shows that "Participation in at least one civic activity (which includes contacting an elected representative) increased the percentage of highly informed and interested individuals".

Stronger communication options with our elected representatives, and more political engagement from our citizens will make a difference. Those who engage regularly will build a better democracy.

We want to dismiss the cynics and empower citizens!

Democracy Link is a free non-partisan communication app that will help facilitate this connection. The app will make the process of phoning or emailing one's representative as easy as posting a comment online, or phoning a friend on speed dial.
