Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing RealReviews on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

RealReviews is an app that is designed as a platform for customers to upload reviews for different restaurants. It aims to improve customer experiences and encourage communication of authentic feedback. In addition to uploading customer reviews which is its major function, the app records and stores the instantaneous geographical location into the database as soon as the review is submitted. Combining these two pieces of information, the app will use machine learning techniques to calculate a confidence score which will be shown in the app. Customers can then refer to the confidence scores of the reviews and have a better understanding of the restaurants. The app is created and published by Yuexin (Sophia) Li (email: sli2@branksome.on.ca; phone: 6478354298), and is inspired by the following research paper: "An Intelligent Approach to Review Filtering and Review Quality Improvement" by Iain Lee, Yu Sun, and Yuexin (Sophia) Li.
