OK so I've downloaded a few remote apps for my Vizio TV and they all sucked! I could only change the channels by pressing the numbers and most of the time they wouldn't even connect to the TV! but this app works great!! It connects automatically without me having to restart the app, it's not full of adds and I haven't had any problems with it lagging! My kids loose the remote at least 4 times a week and since I've downloaded this app I haven't even bothered looking for it!

It is exactly as adveritsed. After looking at the rating, and seeing the remote the first time, I was a bit sketched out, but was quickly over it. It asked for no requirements, just for you to pair your device go your TV, which is what I did. Works fast and perfectly, it is nothing more or less than what it says it is, and that's what makes it good.

Update: worked great the first day, but now wont connect, even after un/reinstalling it. Works great so far, no complaints. My one suggestion would be instead of directly copying the physical remote, make the app buttons customizable, like adding a Disney+ button, and letting me remove the i♡ or xumo buttons I never use.

My remote quit working this morning. I started searching online for where to buy one and this app came up in my search results. Looks identical to the actual remote. Got us out of a jam and I'm so blown away that I could even use an app to operate my tv. Very cool!!!

Remote works for Netflix but doesn't work for Amazon video or vudu, for some reason it won't let you scroll through just takes you to the home screen. Other than that works great for Netflix and input changing.

Updated comment: Works Great with new version on my OLD Nexus 7 tablet, thanks so much! ...Was hanging "Connecting..." after switching back from another app, required clear & reload. Input button HDMI/comp pop-up window made selection difficult (prefer input named select). Love the full typing keyboard available for text input at will.

About this app

This remote control app allows you to control your Vizio SmartCast TV over the local network or any Vizio TV on phones with infrared port.

★ Network IP control (WiFi / WiFi Direct / LAN)
Network IP control works with Vizio SmartCast TVs manufactured 2016 and later!
- Make sure the TV that you want to pair is turned [On]
- Make sure your phone and TV are connected to the same home network. If your router supports a privacy separator function, make sure it is disabled.

Supported mobile devices: all phones and tablets with WiFi.

★ Infrared (IR) interface
- Your TV and phone/tablet must have infrared interface!
- Point your phone’s IR blaster directly at the TV like with the original infrared remote. Usual working range is 3 - 15ft (line of sight).
- With some phones in power saving mode or with almost empty battery the IR signal is very weak and range is less then 5ft.

Features:
All functions should work with the latest (2015) models. If you have 10 year old TV model which does not have internet connection, then of course some internet related (apps) buttons does not work, but all common functions will still work.

Supported devices with IR blaster running on Android KitKat or newer like Galaxy series S4, S5, S6, S6 Edge, Note, Tab, Mega, HTC One series incl. M7/M8/M9, LG G5, G3 Stylus, Xiaomi Mi and Note series, Huawei Honor, Mate and P series, TCT / Alcatel I221 and some Lonovo tablets with IR interface.
