Best way to run Linux on Android without root, I hope there will be solutions on some functions and packages that does not work without root on linux, But I do experience some bug when I have only one tab open on the terminal, the app just stops suddenly and if I open the app again the app stop again and again, until I force stop it on my android manager, Android 10

Functionality reduced since Android 10. Because this app does not use root, it is limited by what Android will allow it to do. Maxima, and various LISP versions won't work anymore, due to MPROTECT Permission Denied. I used to like Maxima and have it installed on my real Linux machines. Too bad I can't have it with this app.

This most powerful Linux Terminal in the Android Market. Everything you need it's in this box(APK). You can with system files: --customize the files --export/import --get status from hardware Anything you want to do, use this Linux box, they even add external keys, so you don't have to install another keyboard, like: --Crtl --Alt --arrows keys etc..

This app is really good and usefull but can you add this feature where you can change the path in where the system is gonna be created, adding this feature is really helpfull so the internal drive is not gonna be full. Sorry for bad grammar. Thank you

Probably not your fault, but I downloaded to try apps on Linux. Takes up 859mb of my v. limited internal storage, which nominally is 128gb but is actually 1.57gb. Read the wiki on exporting files. This has to be done within a session, but it enters an "illegal state" when I start one. Files not visible in a file browser. Stuck. UPDATE: UNINSTALLED. Tried exporting from filesystems menu and the app promptly filled up all my internal storage. Thanks for all your help, which was absolutely zero.

I'd be cool to have Phosh or some other mobile desktop as a choice. Out of box is just an easy tryout. No fiddling and other nonsense.

About this app

UserLAnd is an open-source app which allows you to run several Linux distributions like Ubuntu,
Debian, and Kali.

- No need to root your device.
- Use a built-in terminal to access your favorite shells.
- Easily connect to VNC sessions for a graphical experience.
- Easy setup for several common Linux distributions, like Ubuntu and Debian.
- Easy setup for several common Linux applications, like Octave and Firefox.
- A way to experiment and learn Linux and other common software tools from the palm of your hand.

UserLAnd was created and is being actively maintained by the folks behind the popular Android
application, GNURoot Debian. It is meant as a replacement for the original GNURoot Debian app.

When UserLAnd first launches, it presents a list of common distributions and Linux applications.
Clicking one of these then leads to a series of set-up prompts. Once these have been completed,
UserLAnd will download and set up files required to start the task that has been selected. Based on
the set-up, you will then be connected to your Linux distribution or application in a terminal or
VNC viewing Android application.
