Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing syslog-ng configurator on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. Thanks for sharing this. It's made my job a little bit easier. Would love to see you add check boxes for adding destinations and having a section for creating filters. Keep up the good work!

About this app

This is a simple syslog-ng config generator application to create performance optimized configuration.
The generated configuration is suited for syslog-ng OSE 3.3 or higher.

Background information:
Because I like syslog-ng and my hobby is Android programming I wanted to create some interesting stuff that works on Android but related to syslog-ng.
Finally - because I have some experience how to create performance optimized syslog-ng configuration - I decided to make a special syslog-ng configurator application that can calculate the necessary syslog-ng settings and generate a sample syslog-ng configuration. So this was just my hobby project, but because the result seemed to be useful, I decided to share with you.

Feel free to change or extend the configuration and don't forget, the generated configuration is just a sample and the real performance depends on your hardware and other environment settings.
