Excellent app which reliably records, but afterwards i realized i can't do much with the data because there is no orientation info to subtract off the gravity vector. Better would be the option to log with the gravity vector pre-subtracted for hardware that supports this. Also I'm not sure what the point of logging the filename with every sample is as this unnecessarily takes up extra storage.

[EDIT] This app used to work well. Now even with battery optimization turned off it immediately stops when screen is locked.

Apparently, it doesn't work in the background. Hence, useless for measurements longer than a few seconds.

Used it for a highschool physics project about mass dampeners, imported data into MS excel to create some nifty graphs. I love it.

About this app

In physics, acceleration is the rate of change of velocity per unit of time, and gravity the force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth or toward any other physical body having mass.

AccDataRec is an application that records accelerometer data (x, y, z components) in m/s^2 (SI unit) to the device's memory storage. When the data capture finishes, written data is in TSV (tab-separated values) format, saved with a user specified filename and consisting of: "counter \t timestamp \t x \t y \t z \t filename \n". Periodically, acceleration data is written to avoid data loss.

New features

v.1.3.2
- Fixed orientation change bug that cause the acquisition to stop.
- Fixed timestamp markings that could be out of order.

v.1.3.1
- Minor UI fix.

v.1.3.0
- New and simplified UI/UX.
- Files are now saved in TSV format.
- Measurements are saved periodically to prevent failures.
- Small bug corrections.
