I've been using this app on mobile and desktop almost since its first release. There is no longer a true free version - you are now required to sign up (with a credit card) for a trial of the premium subscription, then cancel it to access the free version. I have no issue with transitioning to a paid version, but this model is misleading and obviously designed to trick users into paying by virtue of forgetting to cancel. It's sneaky and makes me lose trust in the company.

This used to be my go to app and was used on all of my phones. However now with it requiring a credit card and mandatory trial upon installation this is no longer the case. This comes off as extremely shady from a consumer standpoint and I have had my run in with forgetting to cancel subscriptions in the past. With all this considered unfortunately I will be offloading Malwarebytes from my current device as well as my other devices. It is a real shame.

Requiring your credit card for the free trial is aimed so you can take advantage of some premium but primarily based on statistics nearly 80% or more of people end up forgetting to cancel before trial ends or try but have a difficult time finding where to go in order to cancel. I don't think it's fair to take advantage of people who may not want it but I have to enter their credit card in order to try it, for ONLY 1 week at that!

Installed and tried the trial of the premium after noticing my phone was pinging a weird domain. It discovered nothing at all, so I isolated it down myself to an app that appears to have been hijacked at some point. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app in question removed the malicious pings being broadcasted. Very disappointed considering the desktop version is so great

Phone was forced to hard reset and upon reinstalling im told it can no longer find my subscription, and when logging into my account it says to add a subscription. Funny enough I had chrome notifications turned off, and yet was given one when trying to swipe out it opened a file offline and downloaded something. So now I lost tons of data and paid $20 for an app I can not use anymore. Lovely

Used to be you could use it for free. Now there's a paywall before you can get the free version. So if you forget after 7 days they'll charge you or if you just want to scan once you have to have a valid card on file with Google Play to get in and cancel immediately. There's literally no button for no thanks or skip. Just either I have a subscription or trial. And worse, if you had a device with it, free mode still works. Seems sketchy. I used to trust Malwarebytes. Not anymore. P2W app.
