Ligi, you are brilliant... you've earned your first app groupie! (At least it's my first time ~wanting~ to be a groupie for an app maker... I'm digging through all of your (many! amazing!) apps and installing all of them*! (*The ones I understand anyway, you're obviously a super bright and giving dude!) Any chance you go to Burning Man? Cuz you've got 'gifting' an 'radical self reliance' down... 'civic responsibility', 'participation'... I could go on but you get the point. Thank you for all that you do! ~ Plaid / 16 year burner, assimilated by Gigsville for most of them, jackassary instigator, and BM Regional Contact for LA (1 of 4)! xoxo!

Does this app actually encode data into the BTC blockchain or no? I don't think it does and that should really be included in your description, if that's the case of course.

Really ? Do I need to spend btc for that kind of fishy thing ?

I send 0.0000546 BTC to 1271aKQNsbmHckc2aKpzFCzuB3VL8gnJBW, the transaction is successful recorded in blockchain, but it show "existence of this is not proven yet" is it only detect proven from 1satoshi transaction? ps:I am using bitcoin wallet 4.34, it is not allow too small amount transaction

A nice feature would be if I could upload other files such as audio recordings. Good way to monetize this app is to offer a backup service of the images for BTC in case the phone gets lost, etc. They already have their wallet out, would be easy to charge like $0.10 per backup.

Great app. (Only have a minor note aside: your description here in the play store has a typo… it's "certain", not "certein". 😉)

About this app

Satoshi Proof is your personal notary leveraging the power of the Bitcoin network to prove existence of text or images at a certain time.

Examples:
- Prove that a certain damage existed before a given time ( rental cars, flats, .. ) by proving the existence of an image of this damage at a certain time
- Prove that a certain idea ( text ) was existing before a given time ( e.g. for prior art arguments against patents )

First you select a picture or enter text - then the system checks if the existence is already proven and prints out the time if so. If not you get the option to prove the existence now by transferring one Satoshi to a calculated address.
The money is going nowhere ( or to a random stranger ) - but it is so little that this should not matter. Note: it can take some time until the existence is signed by the network - especially with these small amounts ( you can increase the amount if you want faster signing ).

This app is licensed GPLv3 - you can find the sourcecode on github: https://github.com/ligi/SatoshiProof
