About this app

This application uses the phone's camera to read information from a dedicated external temperature sensor. The sensor is placed on the DB board to perform geyser duty cycle measurement. The duty cycle is then converted into kWh and Rand values based on a 3kW geyser. To use it, press the button on the sensor and aim the phone's camera at the blinking light. The principle of measurement is similar to the Energy Watchdog application however using a dedicated temperature sensor instead of the integrated magnetometer. (The sensor will be available on the market shortly.)

Low end devices prior to android 4.4. may experience frame drops which could impact the values displayed. A normal heart rate monitor can also be used using the following formula. kWh = (beats per minute - 50)*10.
