probably the only app of its kind that doesn't require network permissions. it could be much better it allowed us to pause/resume, or to choose between languages through a preferences menu in the notification area. but still, it does what it says: reads the clipboard aloud. one more thing: "swipe up from the home button" has some predefined action on most devices (widgets-settings-wallpapers menu on mine), tapping on the app icon will start and stop reading if you are in the same situation.

Accidentally made it read an entire article I was testing on. It's still reading as I write this review, after I uninstalled the app as it just throws stuff at the TTS engine. :D :D :D Hope it stops without the need to restart the phone. 8/10 lacks an active monitoring mode, which greatly limits usability, but I guess it'll do once you figure out there is an option to stop.

About this app

Clipboard/Text to Speech is an application that allows you to listen any text from any source without any navigation.

Instructions:
Highlight and copy the text (to your clipboard) that you want to have read out loud and click the notification. The application will then begin to verbally speak the text you selected. To cancel, click notification again and the application will stop dictating.

This application will continue dictating when you turn off the screen.
