Plan only? Gotta be honest... SMS/GSM for an 'old' phone to be dedicated to monitoring a door... Isn't going to happen. That's a whole nother line and contract. I'm aware 'good' alarm systems are GSM or SMS... But this isn't it. This is an unused cell likely taped to the backside of a door with a USB cable powering it. Nice idea, a bit ambitious to be perfect. Additionally, it's a great idea, if a bit restrictive. You'll get 5 starts if you go WiFi. Heck add a disclaimer or something saying it's unresponible to run an alarm on WiFi, just don't limit your usefulness.

Great idea!π‘ ...but the second phone needs a phone/data plan. Too bad this couldn't be done through Wi-Fi as an alternative. How does anything work without motion detection permission?

Tested and works well...I use it on my old phone I keep in the car as a satnav/jukebox. My only gripe is that with every use, you have to enter the receiving phones number again, and the randomly generated disarm pin is easy to forget unless you make a note of it, so using the word 'quick' in the title is misleading. Would be perfect if app had ability to remember the call number and a user defined disarm code....hence 4 stars for now.

Really cool idea and would definitely use this app if the door could be monitored by a 2nd phone via WiFi connectivity. Many of us with old/backup cell phones do not have an ongoing data plan assigned to them. There must be a way to notify users on their primary phone via WiFi, in a similar way that WhatsApp operates.

I don't have service on my old phone, that's because its my OLD phone lol please implement a Wi-Fi sms/call based option.
