Great Value for money, paid less than £36 for the Ultimate version and got access to all my bike systems connecting via an OBDLink LX scan tool and an adaptor cable (as my 2005 K1200s has a round pin diagnostic socket). I bought it to allow me to change the fuel sensor to the later K1300s float type (from the original and troublesome strip sensor) which it has done no problem. I also cleared some historic faults from the Engine, ABS & Display Systems, while I was exploring what this app can do.

Works very well if you have a good understanding of the technology involved with both the bike and the phone app. Much cheaper alternative to a dedicated system like the GS-911. You dont have to buy the top level ultimate if you dont think you will need it, but can always upgrade later. Cool. So far I have used it to reset the service indicator on both a R12RT and a C650GT.

Great program. A lot more functions than I need now, but maybe later :). Had an issue setting up bluetooth (crash on setup) Emailed the developer (including a copy the error log file) and got an answer within a few hours. Deleting a redundant unrelated Bluetooth pairing fixed it perfectly. I have the Ultimate version 🤓.

Looked at this as an alternative to getting a GS-911. I completed the annual service on my 2017 R1200 GSA and this worked great at resetting the service indicator after upgrading to Ultimate. Also, allowed for monitoring of 43 different active metrics while the bike is running. I just started scratching the surface with this, but very impressed. It is exactly what I needed.

I had this app for 2 years, I used it on my 2016 S1000R, 2017 S1000RR, 2018 S1000R, and Lately the 2020 S1000XR. I used it with the OBD Link MX and both saved a lot of money over the GS-911 and the cost of the BMW. service cost...

Tried the Lite version, worked flawlessly. Will be purchasing the Pro version. Happy I found this app: It has more capabilities than I do. Now I can feel confident when I am off road, to diagnose issues when required. Awesome app when combined with the OBDLINK LX adapter.Thanks to the developer for this great software.

About this app

MotoScan provides a professional diagnostic for most current BMW motorcycles using a OBDLink LX/MX, UniCarScan UCSI-2000 or ELM327(with restrictions) diagnostic adapter. Please tell us your impressions, suggestions and wishes: support@wgsoft.de

+++ Information Source +++

For extensive information about the app, see https://www.motoscan.de

The full version can be purchased directly from the App. Please check before buying the functions on your motorcycle with the Lite version of the app. In the Lite app you can fully test, however, the display of the data is very limited and it is not possible to run most service functions.

+++ Functions +++

Functions differs depending on the bike model and equipment. Likewise, the scope of individual control devices is different. The app is constantly under development and number of functions grows with every update.

The following functions are available *:
- Identification of the control unit
- Read and clear the trouble codes
- Read Freeze Frames
- Real-time data (sensor parameters, input and output signals)
- Actuators control
- Service interval reset
- ECU coding
- Read and reset adaptations

*Functions on the control unit and degree of development of the app depends. Not all controllers have all the above-mentioned functions. In order to accelerate the development, please send us the log files.

+++ Required hardware +++

Most ELM327 adapters support the diagnostic on BMW motorcycles, but there are also bad China Clones that do not support all commands. For these purposes, a test function in the app have integrated, that it allows to check the adapter for suitability and indicates whether the diagnostic adapter for K-Line and CAN bus motorcycles is suitable. The OBDLink LX and MX adapters are basically suitable for all BMW motorcycles with K-Line and CAN Bus (Latest Firmware update 4.1.x required. Contact us to get it).

The second component is a 16/10 pin adapter cable is required. Available at:
