Patrols & Lone Worker Protection System for Android Smartphones.
The application is used for monitoring of lone workers and seniors.
The application serves as client to an online service. A contract with the service provider is required. For details see the service provider website www.touchguard.eu.
The app aims to provide an easy to use all-in-one solution.
Usual operational mode of the application is default launcher.
Loneworker system according to BS8484 specification (British Standard - Code of Practice for the provision of lone worker device services). The system provides automatic alert SMS messages, phone calls and server alarms. The application detects alarm condition using device sensors and panic button.
The app should provide the simplest possible user experience to the users.
On the first launch, the application asks for required permissions.
The second step is pairing of the app to the server account.
Special permissions used by this app:
BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN - The application can become Device Admin to temporarily prevent accidental uninstallation. Only the dispatcher (with correct permissions) can choose whether the app is Device Admin.
SEND_SMS - This permission is used for sending loneworker emergency SMS.
This app uses the Device Administrator permission. If manager enables Device Admin this app can't be uninstalled until the manager disables Device Admin. There are no uses policies.
Accessibility Service
Because this app is an accessibility service, it can observe your actions, retrieve window content, and observe text that you type.
Application is used for higher productivity and safe work environment as a Lone worker protection system. For safer work we use Accessibility Services API to prevent leaving application to be sure, app will work on foreground in case of emergency.
To begin using Accessibility service TOUCHGUARD:
- Navigate to Settings > Accessibility
- Locate and turn on TouchGuard
App Permissions
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Marker permission for applications that wish to access notification policy.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows applications to connect to paired bluetooth devices.
Allows applications to discover and pair bluetooth devices.
Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.
Allows applications to change network connectivity state.
Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an application to modify global audio settings.
Allows applications to perform I/O operations over NFC.
Allows an application to read from external storage.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows an application to send SMS messages.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to read or write the system settings.
Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows an application to record audio.
Allows an application to write to external storage.
This constant was deprecated in API level 21. No longer enforced.
