التوبة تعني ترك المعاصي التي كان الإنسان مداوماً على ارتكابها، حيث إن هذه المعاصي تعمل على بعد الإنسان عن خالقه عز وجل كما وتعمل المعاصي على تدمير حياة الإنسان خصوصاً إن كانت هذه المعاصي مرتبطة ارتباطاً وثيقاً بالحياة الاجتماعية، ومن هنا فغن التوبة مطلوبة من جميع الناس فليس هناك من هو بمعصوم عن المعاصي. وخطوات التوبة تكون أولاً بالندم على المعصية كما وتكون بمعاهدة الله – عز وجل - بعد العودة إليها مرة أخرى وبكثرة الاستغفار والدعاء والعبادة. والله تعالى فريب مجيب الدعاء لذا فيجب على الإنسان أن يسعى دائماً إلى ان التوبة من كل ما أخطا فيه وما وقع به من معاص وآثام.
