This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Obsqr QR Code Reader Elevated on PC Windows and Mac.

As I'm aware, the original obsqr is not working on my lollipop ROM. Might be camera issues but this works well. Its fast, and lightweight just like obsqr. It takes 3 full seconds from opening the app to auto-zooming on the code and producing a link. Great app

Why Obsqr Elevated?
This version adds support for
1. InstaWifi, QR encoded Wifi hotspot information. Scan tap and connect.
2. Contact information. Now it doesn't bother you with tapping around too much. It just scan, tap and add.

But, privacy! And I don't like too much permissions!
Sourcode is still open. I care for privacy as much as you. I elevate permissions so the app is easier to use and it gets out of the way as quick as possible.
If you are hesitant, use Trikita's version.

Obsqr is a fast and simple QR code scanner. It does just one thing and does it well - it scans.
Minimal design allows you to access QR content with a single tap.

Wifi failing without properties should be fixed.
Now it will warn you if there is no password when it is indeed required.
Dialogue with "Visit and rate" won't bother anymore untill way later.Decide fitst if you like it.
