I was using this app until i received a software update on my oppo phone. Now i can't open the app. Whenever i tap on the icon, the app will appear to be opening. After about 5 seconds, it just closes. The software update is rubbish, a lot of useless apps from google was added which i cannot uninstall. Is this a marketing strategy from google?

I liked the old name of this app (YouDao) more than the new one, but more importantly, as the app underwent updates, its offline translation feature got ruined. Yes, you can download packages for various linguistic pairings, but THE APP WON'T TRANSLATE ANYTHING UNLESS YOU'RE ONLINE. Ever since this became an issue, I reported it to the company, only to be ignored and for the problem to persist. That having been said, use something like Google Translate for actual offline translation.

This is a very popular and useful app in China. The natives like it's translation much more than Google Translate. I've used it there a lot. Now it crashes and won't even open. If they don't fix it soon then I'll have to change my stars rating.

Great app up until recently, now it crashes every time I open it, so I have deleted it. I hope the app developers can fix it because I used to use it all the time, now I will have to find a new translation app

Really its better than google translator. Google translator doesn’t the picture properly but it does. It helps me with my daily life as foreign student in China. Just need to improve with image translating
